How To Enjoy Getting Older
Too many of us go to or “jobs” day after day ,week after week , year in and year out making other people rich and us looking forward to weekends and vacations.Gone are the days of lifetime security in one job leading to a good pension. The average person now has to look for a new “job” every 5 and a half years with many of us being forced to learn new skills and even change careers. How many people do you know who are only 45 years of age and have to change careers? Imagine how difficult it is for those reaching their 60s.
Is your income sufficient to put money aside every month or year into a retirement savings plan?
Can you put enough money aside in the event of job loss or illness that you don’t need to withdraw from your retirement savings.?
With these trends becoming the norm, what will you do when you turn 60 or 65 ? Keep on Working until you die miserable? Few of us are professionals like doctors and lawyers .Even those in the trades are being forced to continuously upgrade their credentials or change jobs.If you are comfortable doing this ,great.Life should be a constant learning process and going to a community college every few years has many benefits. So what happens when you finally retire and you do not have a good pension?
There must be better ways.First of all ,do you have a hobby to keep life interesting outside daily routines ?Are you going to be bored to death by the time you are 66? Can you stay fit and healthy enough to play sports, even bowling? Is there any guarantee?
Let us explore some solutions. You are reading this on your computer most likely and you say you have no further skills nor interests in computer usage. So if I told you that internet marketing is the last thing you would consider and you are going to stop reading right now you would miss a chance to find alternatives.Give me a little more of your time and you will know I can help.
What interests do you have ? Is it sports, spectator or participation, strenuous or relaxing like fishing;collecting, carpentry, old car restoration, electronic tinkering, inventing;how about tourism and travel, sewing or the like;reading, writing;a million other options? Did you know that each and every hobby or just plain interests can make you money? I don’t mean nickels and dimes selling trinkets ,furniture or sweaters at flea markets. And yes, money makes money ,but what if you don’t have any to start the ball rolling?
Again you say that everything on the internet is a scam and everything that makes money even for the little guy has already been started and you wouldn’t know how to compete ,how to start ,or figure you don’t have the knowledge nor skills.Believe it or not but there are more and more retired people using the internet to make money every day and they are just normal ,every day ,un-extraordinary people like you and I.
Do you want a reasonable and non risk taking, zero or low cost method to ensure the financial freedom you so desire for yourself and your loved ones?It is really quite simple. There are only some steps you have to follow to climb the poor man’s ladder to success.
Step 1—You are most likely reading this directly in what is called an internet blog or an RSS feeder service or article directory.I posted this in a blog to start with and other resources you can learn about later.Anyone can start a blog on the internet for free .Some options are Word Press,Blogger,MyBlogLog,Windows Live Writer ,and dozens more. Not to confuse anyone ,but there are also Content Management Systems [CMS} like Drupal, that start off as a web site and modules can be added for blog and forum functionality.Sign up for a free blog.
Step 2—Now what? Read a little literature while online about how to use the features provided.Don’t concern yourself about features you don’t know how to use.You will learn as you use it or ask on forums discussing things about that type of blog.A link for such forums is always given to you when you sign up for a blog. Why are the blogs free ?The internet provides needed and searched for information and every bit of new content is welcomed by search engines and by those searching. While providing this information there is always some subtle advertising and sometimes not so subtle. We will get to that later.
Step3—Very important.Give your blog a name that contains one or 2 key words that set your niche or area of interest apart from your competition.Search the internet using different key words about your topic of interest.Note the term “key word”. Commonly used as a single term,”keyword”, it is essential in bringing customers to your blog to read your article. Now don’t say you cannot write. It doesn’t matter and we will get to that shortly.Your competitors use short keywords and ‘long tail keywords’ to associate their topic or product with their blog and to narrow search patterns. As an example of dog training. The keyword is ‘dog training although it is two words.A long tail keyword can narrow a search down to specifics. You write about let us say ‘training English Setters’ or ‘training English Setters for duck hunting retrieval’ or ‘comparing retriever breeds as pets or working dogs’.Thus a search for such terms may all lead to your site if those keywords are spread out amongst your article paragraphs.Your title could be English Setters or English Retrievers if those titles haven’t been exactly taken by someone else. Your subtitle could be Comparing Retriever Breeds or Why Are English Setters Preferred As Retrievers? You’ll get the hang of it with a little research.
Step4—Content: if you have a passion for your niche or area of interest you will be able to write an article at least once a week to get search engines to notice you and bring you readers. If you are shy to write go to the internet or public library and get articles there.Always give credit to the author or get sued for copyright violation.Better still ,copy ‘public domain articles that anyone can claim as their own. There are hundreds of thousands in every niche you can imagine. You can even search for PLR articles; that is, these articles are given or sold to you as your own private label rights and you can claim to be the author I suggest you change them a bit into words you normally use in case someone else also publishes the same articles.Unique content is much better for search engines than duplicate content.Invite others to write content for you or to be a guest blogger. This brings traffic for both of you.PS: Spelling and grammar is important but not critical;mistakes are made.
Step5—Include links to a small number of resources of information your readers will be interested in also.
Step6—How does any of this make you money? The answer is ads and related products.Let’s start with the easiest ads that won’t cost you a penny. The search engines all have available for free a form of Google adsense. Go to Google or Yahoo or MSN Bing and apply for their adsense type programs .Just follow their directions including advertising category ,color size of ad ,horizontal or vertical ad columns. They provide a code that you simply copy and paste into the side column of your blog, using the blog control panel for placement.Every time a reader clicks on an ad you get a few pennies from the search engine. The advertisers pay the search engines. It adds up once your traffic volume explodes.Don’t forge the importance of good content and good keywords. This process is termed a part of SEO or Search Engine Optimization.
Once you have a fair amount of traffic reading your blog and also perhaps adding comments,,advertisers will come to you or you can offer ad space for so much a month.Top bloggers demand as much as $4000/month for a single 150 by 150 pixel ad.I said top bloggers.
Step 7—Products.These can be physical products you make or have drop shipped by manufacturers or they can be virtual products. These include on-line books or pdf files or audio recordings or videos, that at first may be accessed by readers for free in exchange for their e-mail address.Putting sign up forms into your blog is not hard. Also you can make use of auto responder services or software to send download links to readers who have signed up to your blog and confirmed. You need this double opt-in format so you don’t get charged or banned for spaming with un-solicitated e-mail.Once readers get free files or samples they will recognize your value and begin to trust you .From there you can place images of products for purchase in you blog[right from the start if you like],or offer them in scheduled auto responder e-mails.The key to repeat customers then becomes value in content and products. One product many ignore is eventually putting all your archived content into book or pdf format (also easy) and offering it for sale.
I don’t have any products to sell.So what.Become an affiliate of people that produce products and earn a commission. It is not uncommon to get anywhere from 50% to even 100% commission on an affiliate product. They make their profit by customer lists and back end offers to present while your customers are reading the download sales page.Remember PLR products I mentioned above. Some products ,and choose quality over price, come with PLR .These private label rights allow you to brand the product as your own and resell with all the profits going to you .Now you can offer a back end product [related to your niche] for full profit or some other affiliate product.Repeat: quality;protect your reputation and your customers. You don’t even need to store your downloads on your site.Servers like www.easy-share.com/ will do that for you and pay you a little something for getting people to download from the.Advertising pays for it.
Step8—As soon as you are satisfied with your blog title, buy a domain name for $3.99 to $10.00 and park it on a server [ the domain name seller is usually a hosting server ;ask them.]Why ? If someone gets a domain name like your free blog title you will have a problem.Once you have established your reputation you don’t want to have to start over with a new name.Secondly you do not want to tie yourself to a free blog service which can delete your content at will.It doesn’t happen often but would you not much prefer to have full control.
So now you have traffic and are starting to make money.Re-invest part of it back into what now is a business.Unless you have a 300 page website or 300 adsense rich keyword rich web sites and are relying on advertising revenue only ,let’s build a real freedom generating business.Buy hosting and transfer your free blog to your own hosting server using the titled Domain Name you parked on some server.Make sure you find a reliable hosting company with good options and support by doing research on reputations and recommendations of people you will have made friends with because of your blog. Transferring a domain name is easy ,too.Transferring your blog has become relatively simple since most blog hosts use the MYSQL database system. Use the free blog control panel or dashboard to back-up your database where settings and content are stored and then download it to your computer the same way.Your new host will have a choice of blog or CMS ready for you to install under your new domain name with a few clicks of your mouse. They will even help you with video tutorials.Upload the database from your computer into you new blog or CMS.If settings require alterations or plug-ins or modules need to be added, your host can delete some database tables or you can use 3rd party software.Try to transfer between compatible platforms, like Word Press to Word Press or Drupal to Drupal,Blogger,Joomla.Information and assistance is plentiful on related platform forums. When you are all set up and running without hiccups set your old blog to a permanent redirect to your new blog and tell readers about the move and ask them to bookmark your new domain. After a while you can delete or cancel the old blog. There is no hurry.
Step 9—None of this will happen overnight .It takes work and this kind of work becomes enjoyable once you turn a profit.Remember to re-invest some of your profits every month into Master Resell Rights Products or PLR products and Advertising. You can never have too much traffic .You will gladly update your blog to a dedicated sever with all the bells and whistles, when you can “easily ‘afford it.The same goes for advertising costs.Research ,test, weigh results against cost.
Step10—Remember ,content is king and honesty is the queen that holds the monarchy in control.
Enjoy you new business and make it grow. Many aspects ,including some content additions, can be put on autopilot while on vacation.Just carry a laptop and cellphone for comfort . Most of all, when you are ready to semi-retire you can enjoy the freedom your efforts have brought you, without financial worries and you can pass that freedom on to your loved ones.
